Local is lovely, Fresh flowers from Amsterdam

How amazing is is to be able to pluck your own flowers and make your own gorgeous bouquet. It’s pretty amazing if I have to say so myself. And recently thats just what my Mom, Lemon and I did at Lokale Bloemetjes in Amsterdam.

It was a stunning sunny day that we visited this hidden gem just outside Amsterdam. Funny enough it enden up being very close to the small town I used to live in a few years ago. So having a small reunion with Zwanenburg we headed into the lush greens of the protected nature area nearby to set off and find this special picking garden. When we got there after a lovely walk in the area we were warmly welcomed by Sarai the owner of Lokalebloemtjes.

Even though it was closer to the end of summer the garden was still overflown with colour and delight. The variety and openness of the garden was so inviting. We all happily spent more than half our day just gazing away and picking the most gorgeous flowers. It was near impossible not to feel relaxed and joyous in such a magic place.

After we had finally plucked all the flowers we could fill into our ikea watering can we made two stunning bouquets sparkling with brightness and colour.

And so the next phase of the fun started. At home I couldn’t resist having a little flower photo session. Playing around with the lively textures and colours of the flowers were truly inspiring. Theres not much needed if the products you work with are so beautiful.
